Anyone who deals with government entities soon learns that the development and implementation of a legislative strategy requires the capacity to react instantly to an ever-changing environment. Depending on the clients needs, Chicago/Springfield Consultants may:

• MONITOR – monitor legislative activity as it relates to the client’s industry or interests
• REPORT - provide reports on developments, including synopses of hearings, committee meetings, vote counts and floor activity
• RESEARCH - research and analyze the relevant legislative background
• PRESENCE - identify and work closely with:
  • key legislators, including leadership and staff
  • state constitutional officers and staff
• COALITION BUILDING - identify and work closely with third party proponents and opponents, while proactively identifying strategic partnerships
• DEVELOP PUBLIC POLICY – plans and directs public policy development, review, analysis and evaluations
• PUBLIC RELATIONS – develop the key message of the client and provide support in reiterating that message to both internal and external outlets
• COMMUNITY RELATIONS – develop and cultivate community partnerships/relationships and participate in appropriate coalitions
• GOVERNMENT RELATIONS – influence the legislative and regulatory process to achieve the client’s objectives
• PROCUREMENT ASSISTANCE – research and add assistance to municipal contract procurement
• DOCUMENT PRODUCTION – develop and draft positions statements, legislative proposals, testimony, fact sheets and committee report language
• PREPARE – prepare witnesses and legislators to testify before committees and to speak in floor debate
• ADVOCACY – grow and execute advocacy initiatives for the client’s industry
• GRASS ROOTS LOBBYING – manage public outreach campaigns using a variety of media and techniques including personal contact and mail
• EDUCATION - develop and conduct workshops to help educate client staff, community leaders and legislators of the client’s objectives and ways to achieve them for the benefit of all involved
